PRINCIPALS REPORT
Mrs Julie Hanley - It is a busy time of year, only fourteen days
left and the school is busy juggling classes and staff allocations.
There will be 12 classes next year. A successful executive planning
day was held last week. The events calendar was planned for next
year. There will be a special event planned to coincide with the
Olympic Games in Athens. It will be an Olympic Travelathon. Each
class will host a different country. Children will have a passport
and will travel to classrooms and answer questions regarding the
countries. This event will possibly finish with a Multicultural
lunch.
The End of Financial Year rollover was done today. High School orientation
will be held this week. School leadership members for 2004 have
been nominated. House captains will be elected this week. Last week
the first Band committee meeting was held and Julie felt that this
could possibly become a sub committee of the P&C. The first
newsletter will be out tomorrow. A Band promotion evening will be
held on 10/12/03. Today Carlingford High School Band performed at
our School.
Community Relations Committee - Julie also felt that this could
become a sub committee of the P&C. The function of this school
committee has changed from promoting the school to a role of promoting
the involvement of parents within the school. This committee will
next year cater for a Librarian Conference to be held at our School.
Thank you to all long serving P&C Members who are leaving the
School community this year. Parents at the meeting who are leaving
are Glennis & Ross Endicott, Kim & Phil Meyer and James
& Ann Bull, their contributions to the School have been highly
valued.
