Where does the Band Play?
Currency Lads has done literally thousands of “gigs.”
”We've played for big shiny conventions, ambassadors (where are they now?), launches of sparkling new cars, launches of partnerships (weddings), parties, everything."
"Not long ago we played for a school on Tuesday, a shopping mall on Thursday, a pub on the Friday (the Irish repertoire), a private posh function on Saturday night, a new housing estate(!) on Sunday afternoon and a club on Sunday night. We aren't always that busy (thank heavens) but it shows you the mischief we get up to. We did a wedding the week before where we played classical at the service before the 'bush dance' reception. That was good except I had to wear a tie."
The trio grows to four, five or whatever you want but even as a trio, some clever electronic tracks give the band a biggish sound.

”Well, the corporates, they like it too because it's uniquely Australian yet it's something different and Currency Lads is geared up to kind of turn into an authentic pop band as the night progresses. This has been a huge asset in satisfying clients.
'Didn't know you could play like that too. The night was an absolute party!' " |
